Yes they do
There is a minimum order of one entree per person. The bill for our party was an average of 2500 yen per person.
Unclear... It's a small store so maybe not. Recommend calling (or having a hotel concierge call) to ask.
Closed on Mondays (※ If it is a national holiday, it will be closed on the next Tuesday) Call the shop for details 03-5466-6775 Monday is a regular holiday. However, it is open on public holidays. The next Tuesday is a day off with a transfer. Please call the store for details.
There is a staff who can speak English
Nope. Only pork.
If dinner, i heard it was recommended. The night we went we made reservations, but it was quiet enough I'd imagine no reservations would have been ok.
Amazing tonkatsu! Great service as well!
Service was great, food was even greater. Tempted to try pork belly instead of the usual tenderloin or loin, but luckily I gave it a shot! Conclusion: you know this place has mastered tonkatsu when they make it right with pork belly.
It was an amazing experience. There was an extensive selection of pork cuts to choose from. The tonkatsu is light and tender. Best ones I have ever had! The staff is super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is located in a traditional house in a neighborhood area. The house itself is so cute. It’s such a gem, I highly recommend
Incredible selection of pork, each with traceable origins. Great service. Can't miss if you are into Tonkatsu
The most amazing tonkotsu we've ever had. Their selection changes day to day, but it's all good! Definitely need to make a reservation here as it gets pretty busy.
Best tonkatsu I've had in Tokyo.
Amazing experience! Highly recommend the many different varieties of tenderloin, but the sirloin is great too!
It is awesome the fried fish here is just must order
Best tonkatsu I've ever had. The place has a selection of locally sourced meats from different farms and choice of different cuts of pork. Their meat is excellent and the breading is crispy, light and delicious. On top of that, you get free refills of miso soup and rice.
Really friendly staff. Understood English. Huge selection of pork from different regions.
Super good food. Great services and atmosphere!
High quality tonkatsu. Try to go on the 29th of a month to get "meat day" (niku-no-hi) specials.
A rich man's feast at a poor man's prices. What more do you need? Ingredients of the highest quality, combined with restraint and balance. Good prices considering the amount of food they provide. Would definitely recommend stopping by at least once.
A quaint two-storey building, Butagumi offers one of the best tonkatsu experiences I've enjoyed. There was no wait for a seat when I got there around 11:50am. Upon opening the menu, I was greeted by a plethora of meat options. The menu is split into loin and filet sections, and broken down further into the different breeds of pig available. We ordered both the loin from a golden boar, and loin from a Mt. Tsukuba pig. The loin from the golden boar was meatier and a bit chewier, while the latter had more fat and was more "melt in your mouth". Both were very good, especially when paired with the accompanying condiments of salt, tonkatsu sauce, and mustard. We paid a reasonable 6,100 yen for the meal, given the quality of the meat, and service.
The restaurant doesn’t accept kids for no good reason.
Delicious food. You choose the cut you’d like prepared from a variety (all with descriptions). Served with rice, miso soup, and cabbage (refillable). The starters are great as well. Recommend going early. We arrived shortly after noon and were able to walk right in and be seated without a reservation. When we left there was a significant line down the block. Would be worth the wait even if you find a line.
The best original tonkatsu dishes in Tokyo. Pork origin from many places in Japan (however the stock are seasonal). Also serving superb pork croquette. The shop is very old but in a good condition. Price level is quite high though.
Delicious tonkatsu fried pork cutlets. Wasn’t that busy on a weekday lunch. The pickled radish that day was smoky and full of flavor. Pork is good just by itself, sprinkled with salt, or with a little mustard. The small tomatoes that were complimentary were also extremely good and full of flavor.
This is the first tonkatsu I've ever had and it was amazing. Light, crispy, great crunchy exterior with the meat still tender. Absolutely excellent and worth the price. The staff was really kind to us as well. Highly recommend.
This places lives up the hype. Their ability to create a fried exterior that is light and airy is quite special. I’m not sure how they do it but it’s worth the trip out to this somewhat hard to reach location.
OMG what an incredible meal this was. Words cannot describe the richness and juiciness of the pork cutlets. Is simple yet fancy. One of a kind experience. Have to try the best kind of pork they have!
Light and tender pork, beautiful appetizers and a beautiful old building. Fabulous!
Love it. One of our best meals in Tokyo!
Incredible selection of pork! I didn't know that different cuts/origins of pork could taste so different. Our waiter spoke English very well and was very helpful in making choices. There is a one-item minimum per customer, and the portions are on the larger side (each person also gets a bowl of white rice and some cabbage), so come hungry! Entrees are priced between 2k and 4k JPY.
it is a bit pricey place but it dose have low price option (See Photo Katsu Curry) and it was pretty good no matter the price!
Spectacular...fantastic....epic....magical...wonderful....really, really good...Run...be early....and fall in love with this really great food and flavor and feel of the place....Why are you still reading....run...go now...this place rocks...
Pork lovers heaven! We chose 'ryuka-ton' from Okinawa a thick deluxe buta and twas absolutely delicious. The meat was thick & juicy, the batter was light , crispy and crunchy all together. Overall a great place to dine , food was top notch, service was great and price mostly affordable. We'll hope to come back again for more #tonkatsu.
Amazing tonkatsu! They have an English menu. Staff was very friendly and spoke English well. Best tonkatsu I’ve ever had and you get to choose the cut of pork. Comes with a couple sides that compliment the pork well. A great meal for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
For not being a fan of PORK.. this place was full of flavor! Cozy atmosphere, nice staff and delicious meal. A must try! ðŸ˜
Amazing service and absolutely delicious food the sides are definitely worth getting including the pickles. Subtle but amazing flavors in the brine and the crispiness of the tonkatsu is absolutely amazing
The tonkatsu here is absolutely awesome. Super crispy outside, tender inside. Try it with just a pinch of salt before using any sauces!
Great selections of pork to choose from...
One of the best tonkatsu there is
Very delicious tonkatsuFree rice and cabbage Please don’t use parfume
Best Tonkatsu I've ever had! I even had seconds. They had 30 over pork and cuts to choose from. The expensive one was so tasty and the meat was so tender. After that I decide to go for their lunch set which was very delicious as well though I can feel the meat was not as tasty as the first. It was not pricey and definitely worth the price. There was a short queue just when I went and that was before they open for the day but I don't think there is much of a queue once they start. The restaurant is quite spacious compared to other Japanese eateries.
One of the best tonkatsu I had. The pork quality is outstanding (and they have even higher quality references for dinner). It is not cheap though, in accordance with the quality.
I would recommend this place! Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We had a reservation which is a must if you’re going there during lunch time. We’ve had the tenderloin and sirloin cut which were both exceptional. Key is to choose the cut based on how lean (tenderloin) or how fatty (sirloin) you’d like it to be. If you have questions, the friendly staff can easily help you out. There’s also an English menu which is excellent for comparison. Location is a few mins train ride from main areas but it’s worth the trip.
Great place to taste tonkatsu with awesome choice of pork from almost everywhere in Japan. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly (they also speak english!). The price can be a bit expensive depending of which cut/origins you choice but definitely worth it !
This place is amazing. Such a beautifully cute little house, and the staff are so friendly. I would definitely recommend sirloin cuts, the pork was so juicy but never fatty, and stayed crispy to the end. Everything is delicious, but the pickles are exceptional, you're silly if you don't order them!
Highly recommended - probably one of the best (if not, THE best) tonkatsu you would have in your life. They have a huge selection of pork from all over Japan but only a few available at any one time. Both lean and fatty cuts are available and both are equally good.We dropped by the restaurant on Friday evening shortly after they opened and were lucky to get a seat despite no reservations. Recommended to make a reservation though to avoid disappointment. Staff were able to communicate in English and make recommendations which was very helpful.Abit pricey for pork but I would say this is really worth every penny spent.
This is my favorite tonkatsu place in the whole of Japan! Will keep on coming back to this place for my thick sliced order. I'm not the biggest fan of pork but this place has changed everything. The pork is tender and breading is so delicious you dont get tired of eating the whole dish. I would recommend for you to reserve a seat via Facebook if you dont have a local number. They are very responsive and so to avoid the long queu.
Tonkatsu lovers unite! There's no better place in Tokyo for delicious tonkatsu. Choose your cut, choose your sides, and enter pork heaven. Simply amazing.
Best Katsu I've ever had! This is a must do. We went for lunch. We did not have a recommendation, but it seemed like we got lucky, so I'd call in advance. And they have unlimited cabbage!
Great tonkatsu restaurant located in a quiet corner of Tokyo. Selection of pork varies from night to night, so your options may vary. Pork loin options tend to be quite rich, so be sure to order the tenderloin for a leaner piece of meat.
Excellent tonkatsu, but know what you are ordering. I had slightly higher expectations, the meat was a little too fatty and slightly undercooked on the ends for some reason. Interior of the restaurant is small, cozy and waitress was very kind., which was the highlight of this restaurant.
Such an amazing katsu place! The lunch combo is a good deal, overall an excellent experience. Love the store interior and exterior!
Exceptional food and experience. The ambience, presentation, food and service all created an experience not to be forgotten. The grilled smoked tomatoes had an amazing flavor and the pork katsu was perfect. Light and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can taste quality in every bite. If I am ever back in Tokyo I would not miss the chance to go back. Wish I had one where I live!!
Very good Katsu Don and sides. Queue organization is messy...
Excellent service, try the tenderloin cut pork
When in doubt, have butagumi! Although with kind of a bit high price tag, the juiciness will pay it off. They will have different kind of pork with part choices from sirloin deluxe / regular & tenderloin (less fats). I choose sirloin because I like more fats & it taste heavenly. I might say butagumi is the ultimate comforting meal. Loving the complimentary appetizer as well!
